Tell us about your role at Nine Peaks?
My role started as an administrative assistant to Eric helping with daily tasks and keep the business running smoothly. As I became more familiar with the company and our service offerings, I got pretty excited to learn as much as I could about Enterprise Content Management which is the organizing and storing of digital content. I began training on the Laserfiche software product that Nine Peaks offers. In just a few short months I became a Laserfiche Gold Certified Professional and am now helping our clients organize documents, as well as automate standard business processes to become more efficient.
You’re a fast learning! What’s your background?
It’s an interesting medley. I have a dual Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Policy and Biology, worked as a research assistant, interned for an environmental campaign, labored in customer service for a bit, and most recently supported numerous staff as an administrative assistant.
How does technology play into your background?
I didn’t realize I had a passion for it until I started working for Nine Peaks. Now I can’t get enough of it!
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The best part of my job is working with our clients to understand their frustrations and problems. Then matching a long term solution that not only solves their immediate need but helps them streamline their processes and elevate their internal communication. Technology, used correctly, can make a remarkable impact on people’s lives.
Now that you’re waist deep in the technology world, what’s the biggest change you see coming in the industry?
The technology industry changes so quickly. I see more change coming with automating business processes. Many companies don’t understand what they can automate and the effect it can have on efficiency and lowering overhead. The future is an entirely paperless environment.
What’s one piece of advice you can give clients?
When looking for technology solutions, always think ten or more years down the line. Fixing an immediate problem that only solves a short-term problem will not benefit you in the long run. Creating sustainable solutions is key!
What do you think is the greatest invention of all time and why?
Definitely, cast iron! You can cook anything in it, and it’s always to die for!
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Ireland. My grandparents emigrated from Ireland, and I’d love to spend a few weeks there.
If you could shop for free at one store, which one would you choose and why?
Costco, I’m a sucker for that store. It has everything I need all the time! Plus, in bulk!
